Students must be taught to write instructions through a clear progression from verbal to written and demonstrated/modelled before being practiced (Babcock International Group, 2015). It sounds like a simple thing, but it quite hard for students to achieve (Department for education and skills, n.d.).

This website is designed to encourage and assist teachers to implement the Australian Curriculum content descriptor ACTDIP004 in theF-2 classroom.

Throughout a clear step-by-step process, teachers are provided with a variety of carefully selected resources that not only inform about each topic discussed, but also allow for practice and can be included in lesson planning for the classroom.

Through its implementation, teachers will also be implementing the general capabilities of literacy, numeracy, ICT and critical and creative thinking; whilst teaching students to make ethical and informed decisions about technology and its uses, teachers are addressing the cross-curriculum priorities of sustainability and helping students become technologically literate citizens.
